Microsoft to buy Skype for U.S. $ 8.5 billion

Microsoft Corp. is getting closer to a deal to buy internet telephone company Skype Technologies for U.S. $ 8.5 billion, including debt.



Source Reuters on Monday (10 / 5) 2011, said the deal was expected to be announced on Tuesday morning. The source refused to be named. Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan became chancellor of Skype, the source said. Microsoft does not use the adviser, the source said.

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported news of the deal. Microsoft declined comment. Skype also has not commented.
